About The Duke Of Edinburgh Awards
Founded in 1956 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh who remains the Patron,
the Duke of Edinburgh Awards are committed to
providing opportunities for 14 - 25 year olds with an enjoyable, challenging and
rewarding programme of personal development. You can take part
through schools, colleges, youth clubs, voluntary organisations,
pupil referral units, young offenders institutions and businesses,
to name but a few. It helps instil citizenship qualities within
young people such as self-belief, perseverance and leadership
skills. Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards
are available with an increasing level of challenge.
