Last Review Of
Summer Ponds Campsite and Fishery
"We
stayed at this site in October and found it to
be a very beautiful place, the facilities were
first class having showers in a heated room, a
laundry area and indoor pan washing. The pitches
are generous and most have ehu at no charge, as
the name suggests this is a fishing site with
gorgeous landscaped ponds that have pitches
right on the lake so that you can fish, if like
us your not fishing though you are just as
welcome. On the main lake is the reception and
restaurant which does an evening take away
service that they will even bring to you. The
staff were excellent and very friendly, just
outside the entrance is a post office and
general store and a very welcoming pub that also
does food. All in all I can highly recommend
this site whether you fish or not for a relaxing
stress free stay" Submitted by Aaron666
Campsite Review
A relatively new site with two distinct areas.
Only adults can use the lake side pitches and
children are not allowed to play there. This
area is served by a porta loo block. The second
area is built around a play area and has a new
toilet and shower block. There is an on site
cafe and the village shop is in easy walking
distance. Wardens and owners are resident on
site. Woodland walks are available.
Fishing
Small pond contains carp to 24lb roach,
tench, rudd, chubb, perch and crucians. The big
pond contains perch to 4lb, chubb to 6lb, bream
to 7lb, roach to 2lb and pike to 15lb. A new
31/2 match lake has been created and provides
prolific fishing with barbel, chubb, carp,
crucians, tench and roach. Fishing is 7am till
dusk resident campers from 6am in summer months.
