Verdict
If like me, you prefer the extra leg
room of ‘square’ bottom bags then check this bag out. It
has a good ‘Comfort Rating’ down to -2 (which ensures
you’re warm enough through spring and autumn), packs
down well (with no issues getting it back in the bag)
and feels very comfortable against the skin. It’s an excellent sleeping bag for the price.

Verdict
Good quality and robust product
which unfolds in seconds. Particularly like the
adjustability to 3 positions. Although it has a foam
padding I thought it a little hard to sleep on and found
I had to supplement the top with a cheap self inflating
mat. It’s not the cheapest campbed on
the market but I think you’ll get your monies worth as
it’s built to last. it also doubles up as a funky
looking sun lounger on those lazy summer days outside
the tent.

Royal Campbed

Royal Campbed

Cons: |

fiddly to assemble
|
Verdict
These beds are a bit like Marmite,
you either love ‘em or hate ‘em. I’ve tried the 4
legged (different brand) and 3 legged versions but
prefer the Royal 3 legged versions as I found the 4
legged version almost impossible to get both ends of the
poles into the fabric sleeve ends which means one end of
the bed ends up a bit on the saggy side. The 3 legged
version (or at least the Royal version) doesn’t seem to
suffer from this and is easier to assemble and if I’m
honest seems a bit better quality.
As with all of these types of beds
they can tip if attempting to sit on the edge but I find
them quite comfortable (especially if supplemented with
a cheap self inflating mat).
The Cost
Around the £10 mark, a bargain price

Verdict
There’s quite a few similar versions
of these beds on the market, even Tesco and Argos sell
unbranded versions. They’re a bit on the heavy side to
cart around but they’re as ‘tough as old boots’ and
won’t tip over when you’re putting your socks on. They
can feel a bit on the hard side and once again I prefer
to supplement them with a cheap self inflatable mat. At
195cm in length it’ll stop most peoples feet hanging
over the bottom edge and the slightly raised head should
stop your pillow falling of the top end in the middle of
the night.
The Cost
Between the £15 - £30 (look for the
sales/discounts)

Verdict
Good quality and robust product which unfolds/folds in

positions which really makes this a multi-functional
product to suit most peoples sitting preferences (you
can almost lay back to enjoy the summer sun). There is also a slightly larger model available (the
Monaco) so with the 5 position functionality and
available in 2 sizes then there should be one to suit
your
needs.

Coleman Double
Comfort Air Bed

These
unique Double chamber airbeds features Coleman’s air
tight system and double lock valves to ensure the airbed
stays inflated for longer and is one of the most
comfortable on the market currently.
Features
The
double chambers allow the airbed to be inflated to
different pressures on each side allowing a greater
level of comfort. The double lock valves allow for quick
inflation whilst using one of the modern high volume air
pumps. Dimensions : 188 x 134 x 22cm
| Pros and Cons |
Cons: |

Very Comfortable
Small pack size
Quick Inflation |
|
Verdict
After trying many a airbed this has to be one of the
most comfortable on the market currently. The ability to
have different pressures on each side allows you to have
the beds firmness set to your own likings, but also
reduces the motion felt when the other person turns. We
have found the bed will require topping up every four or
five days which we find acceptable. The bed is supplied
with a repair kit and its own carrying bag for easy of
transport and weighs in at 3.7kg.
Cost
Around
the £25 mark and available from most good camping
stores.
