Don't have one myself, but sister does.  When she bought a new 'van I removed the mover off the old 'van, electrics and all and can say (from an engineers point of view) it was extremely well made.  Brackets and holes were easy to align, cut straight and fitted together well.  The electrical connections were good, logical and easy to see what had to be done from both a dis-assembly and assembly point of view.

LOL, unfortunately I'm sorry but I can't recall the make/model of mover, but I'm sure she'll pop along and say .. Wink

Hi Chippy
as my bro has just said we have one fitted, it a powrtouch mover and it is brill. I know I am not speaking out of turn here because he says it himself but Kelv, my husband, is not the best at reversing carabvans etc so we use this mover everytime we use the caravan. With our new caravan we would not get it on the drive without the mover.

We had this mover fitted 2 1/2 years ago on our Pageant Magenta, with that caravan we only required the lighter weight one, so it cost us £800 fitted but when the fitter came to fit it for us it seemes they had supplied the heavy duty one for us as at the time of request that was all they had in stock! So, we saved £300 straight away.

I have only had to speak with Powrtouch once, when we we arranging for the mover to be fitted to the next 'van and they were very helpful and friendly.

I would not hesitate in suggesting to have a mover fitted (it certainly saves your back!) and  would definitely recommend Powrtouch.

We have had a motor mover for about 3 years now and would NOT be without one now. They are brilliant and I honestly can't find a con to list. Ours is a Reich but the only reason we chose this one is that we park the caravan in a tight spot next to the house and we needed a remote activator as we cant get down the side to manually activate it, and Reich had the remote one. I think the makes are all very good & I'd get one fitted with no hesitation chippy.  Grin

We have the Rhyno one fitted.
It is one of the lightest, and has very good ground clearance. My mate, who normally works on trucks snd buses, fitted it for me and he reckons it is a substantial piece of kit. I had to talk Anne into getting this, but as our storage place is tightish, it has proved its worth, and both of us would not be without one now.

I don't think we could manage without one now. Been a couple of sites on this holiday where we would not have been able to get on our pitch without the mover. Our new van has a Powertouch our previous van had a Reich.

We had a mover fitted when we bought the van and wouldnt do without it. Like everyone else has said it saves having to push and shove the van and as its geared low it will take the van over wet groung no problem. Think the biggest advantage is that it saves the clutch on the car when reversing onto a pitch.

I have just self fitted an Ego mover recently to my van, and would agreee with everything said so far.

Just this weekend, we to would not have been able to get our van onto the last remaining pitch if it hadn't been for the mover, since there was not room to reverse the car back with the van on. We arrived late when it was dark, and this took the hassle of siting the van and made for a much more plesent experience. Also, my drive is a nightmare, and without it its near impossible without breaking our backs to get the van off it!

I hesitated getting a mover at the start, simply because of cost and the fact that I was just starting out and would probably be changing the van to a better one soon. With the recession biting I can't be extravagant and get a newer van yet, so I went for the mover to make my trips out easier and self sufficient if its just me and my dog!

Best thing I ever did......just wish I had done it earlier in this season, then I could have been away more  Grin

It seems quite obvious with the replies to this thread that movers are becoming an 'essential' piece of kit for a lot of people.
I wonder which of the manufacturers will be first to fit a mover as standard or more likely an optional extra?
