Planning your holidays for 2009? You won’t go wrong, if you book this site as it is one of the best, I have had the pleasure of staying on.

The Grange is inland to Great Yarmouth by 4 miles. It is situated nearer to Caistor and within walking distance of the sands there. The beach is flat and firm making it ideal for children to play in the sea and sand. There are no amusements, donkeys or stalls so if money is tight, there is nothing to tempt the children. Also, dogs are allowed on the beach providing you clean up after them. If you don’t fancy the 10-15mins walk to the beach, there is a large free car park adjacent to it with toilets too.

But let me tell you about the site. It stands just off a roundabout and so when first arriving; you may think the traffic noise may be a problem. We were in the centre of the site and never heard it. The site is managed by Candy and Graham a more hospitable couple I have yet to meet; nothing was too much trouble for them. The pitches are well spaced and the grass kept short. It rained almost continuously during our stay and so I was afraid our motor-home may sink but it didn’t as the rain soaked away immediately.

Most pitches have 16amp ehu available. The facilities on site are nothing short of magnificent. There are ample toilets and showers, both super clean with modern tiled floors. In the ladies, there are flowers, a dressing table and piped music. The water was always warm and the showers were free. My husband said the men’s were also of a very high standard.

There are washing up facilities and a separate laundry room with washer, drier and iron/ ironing board available. If you have a dog, there is off road walking and a field in which to exercise them. If you have children, there is a small play park on site and a larger play park at the pub next door.

We sampled the food at the Grange. They have themed meals and some entertainment but we chose the Sunday lunch carvery and at £6.95 for the main meal and sweet, we were well pleased.

The Grange is an ideal site for touring the Broads or visiting the seaside. We will certainly be returning there and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It is nothing short of a 5***** camping site, in my opinion.
