Conway Crusader Overview

The 2007 Crusader is the last of a dying breed I'm sorry to say. This is the last of the Conway's to have the famous conumatic opening system. The crusaders beds slide out on set up but you do have to have very strong arms or a little help to lift the first bar to ease opening, as I struggled on my own I wasn't sure if its because its new and stiff or it is generally this stiff. Once the beds are out and locked into place, I managed on my own to set up alone in about 15 mins so it is as easy as they say.  I managed this in the time it took my husband to fill the aquaroll and toilet.

There is a wardrobe and below is a 3 way fridge on the left on entering the cabin area and also on the left is a king-size bed in situ. In front on entering is a washroom with Thretford toilet and sink, small but functional.  The Kitchen in directly in front with hob with 3 burners and separate grill and oven, next to is a sink with hot and cold running water.  Plenty of cupboard space.  Built in Fan heater for camping in the colder weather and also a CD / MP3. On the far right is a double bed. The seating like a caravan can be made into another double bed.  The curtains and linings all match and for ease of setup the bedroom sections can be left in place, only the central roof lining needs to be removed.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

Ease of use

Easier to Tow and store than a caravan

No pegging out

Stiff opening of Beds

All year round camping

Dry out before storage

The Cost

Expect to pay around £9300 new from a dealer so expensive, but well worth the expense for the benefits of a caravan without the hassle of storage

The Verdict

Ease of use, towing and storing, although new they are almost as expensive as a budget caravan these unit offer something different in that they can be towed by smaller cars and are much easer to store at home, avoiding costly storage fees
