Outwell Andaman Sea L
(Sleeping Capacity 3 persons)

The Tent
The Outwell Andaman Sea is from Outwell’s Comfort range
of tents and is a 3 berth dome tent and was introduced
for the 2007 season. The comfort range of tents is aimed
at those who want to upgrade their synthetic tents but
do not wish to go to one of the larger family models on
the market place. This tent is based on the popular
Arizona tent but has the benefit of using Outwell’s
tried and tested polycotton flysheet (Airtech). The tent
is full height and so affords standing room is easy to
erect with plenty of ventilation. The main front door
can be turned into a canopy with the supplied steel
poles affording a nice area to cook or just chill out
under. The tent also has a benefit of a skylight’s to
let in the daylight or to allow you to star gaze from
with in the tent. All in all this is an ideal tent for
couples who require a roomy , quick to erect, non
synthetic tent for those weekends away. The tent is made
to a very high specification (see below) and is designed
to ensure comfort and durability.

Erection / Pitching
The tent being a dome tent is easily
erected, the main dome structure having three supporting
poles all of which are colour coded. Once the tent is
out the bag you may find it easy to loosely peg the four
corners out first. Snap the poles together and insert
into the matching colour sleeve. Although this type of
tent is easily erected by a single person, with the
additional weight of the poly cotton flysheet it is
easier if a person enters the tent and supports the
weight prior to locating the poles. Locate the poles one
at a time to the ring and pin system, once all poles are
secured, hang the inner tent and fit the porch bathtub
groundsheet. Finally secure the tent using the pegging
points on the tent as well as pegging out the attached
guy ropes.

The Cost
Around £250 for this seasons model and there is also a

The Verdict
This is a great quality tent for a
couple who require an easy to erect quality polycotton
tent. The tent would be a great tent for touring, being
easy to camp and decamp with plenty of room for your
gear and with the benefit of a porch for cooking when
the weather is poor. We would recommend the purchase of
the additional footprint to protect the bottom of the
inner tent and also to allow a quicker decamp as the mud
and dirt should be confined to the footprint.
