Vango Peace
Tipi 500
(Sleeping Capacity 5)

The Tent
The Vango range of Peace Tipi’s
is one of range of two new Tipi’s by Vango for the
new 2009 season. The Peace range is available in
Three (300), Five (500) and Eight (800) person
sleeping size’s. The tent uses Vango’s proven
Protex’s CM Polycotton technology ensuring all the
benefits of cotton without the weight of the
flysheet and the Powerlite Alloy pole system which
ensures a very quick and easy to pitch tent. The
tent is a basic Tipi design with good ventilation
ensured through the top mesh vents as well as
Vango’s airflow vent system. Aimed at couples and
festival goers’ this tent is sure to be a big hit
along with its cheaper option the Juno. We are
sure one will be coming to a campsite near you soon.
The tent is made to a very high specification (see
below) and is designed to ensure comfort and
durability.

Erection / Pitching
Erection of this tent is
simplicity itself and should take no more ten
minutes for the tent to be up and complete. Once the
tent is out of the bag we found it easier to loosely
peg the rear and side anchor straps. Assemble the
alloy centre pole, open the front door and lift and
locate the pole on the reinforced pole points at
both the top and bottom of the tent. Close the front
door, peg down the front two anchor straps and make
sure no adjustments are needed on the side and rear
anchors. Peg down the remainder of the tipi’s
elastic pegging points followed by the guy ropes.

The Verdict
Vango are a very well known and
established maker in the camping field and this new
range of tent’s for the 2009 season is sure to be a
big seller with both couples and festival goers’ who
want a tent a little bit different. The tent is very
quick to erect and is well made but we would like to
point out that the centre pole does reduce the
amount of useable room inside the tent as would be
expected which you will need to take into account.
Vango have incorporated some nice features into the
tent like the Airflow vent system as well as zips in
the groundsheet around the door entrance to allow
you to drop it and lay it flat. We think the model
tested will be a good seller this season and
promises to provide eye catching accommodation at
many a campsite and festival.
